Guide to using Minichord as midi controller on iOS devices

As of this posting, using the Minichord as a midi controller via usb to iPhone/iPad will disable the sound on your iOS device. This is a workaround using two devices and Bluetooth midi.

Thanks a lot! This is definitely something that is fixable, but I need to find the time to do it. To explain: currently the Teensy only allows to create an USB audio input if you also expose a USB audio output. Trouble is on iOS this output gets selected automatically which disable the default sound output, muting them. Thanks for the temporary workaround

Btw, my video tutorial assumes one has both an iPhone and an iPad but this also works if yoou have a Mac computer and either an iPhone or iPad. You’d connect the Minichord to your Mac and then send out the bluetooth midi to your iOS device.

You can install the midimittr app on your Mac. To do this, you’d go to the App store on your Mac and click on your profile, making sure it shows apps for iPhone/iPad and search for the midimittr app. see the attached pic.
